SUMMARY
Two-thirds of all adults drink alcohol. The blood alcohol concentration at which a person becomes impaired is variable dependent upon the individual. Each individual has specific parameters that affect the level of impairment such as size, weight, eating habits and alcohol tolerance. Inappropriate consumption of alcohol can be a contributing factor to many accidents, injuries, and medical conditions.
The Alcohol Rapid Test Device (Urine) is a rapid, highly sensitive method to detect the presence of Alcohol in human urine.
This test provides a preliminary result only. A more specific alternate chemical method must be used in order to obtain a confirmed analytical result. Gas chromatography (GC) is the preferred confirmatory method. Clinical consideration and professional judgment should be applied to any result, particularly when preliminary positive results are indicated.
TEST PROCEDURE FOR Alochol Test
Allow the pouched device to equilibrate to room temperature (15-30C) prior to testing.
1.Remove the test device from the sealed pouch and use it as soon as possible. Do not use the test device if the reaction pad has a blue color before the specimen is applied or is otherwise discolored.
2.Using the provided disposable dropper, transfer 3 drops of specimen (approximately 120 μL) to the specimen well (S) of the device and start the timer.
3.Read results at 2 minutes by visually comparing the color of the reaction pad to the corresponding color blocks to determine the Alcohol concentration. Do not interpret the result after 5 minutes.
